Washington University Baseball coaches will provide all attendees with a written evaluation of their baseball abilities and future college playing prospects. Players should expect this evaluation within a few weeks of the prospect camp. Evaluations will be realistic, honest and accurate and will focus on areas of improvement for the player. The evaluations will also reflect a true assessment of the players' chances of playing at the various college levels.
Video Evaluation Package:
$150.00 (Optional, choose add on when registering)
High School players should expect an abundance of face time in front of the WashU baseball coaches and should expect to receive numerous comments on their baseball skills and mechanics. Players participate in:
The games will be scored via GameChanger and players will receive their stats after completion of the camp: hitters get data like quality at bats, and pitchers get info like first pitch strike percentage. Further, players are not limited to playing just one position: pitchers not only pitch and catchers not only catch. But rather, all players will get instruction at multiple positions and the chance to play various spots in the games.
Though not the focus of the Prospect Camp, Washington University Baseball staff will coordinate traditional showcase elements, like 60 yard sprint times, Nike Sparq testing, throwing velocities and batting exit speeds. Washington University Baseball will compile all of this data for players once the camp concludes.
Any High School baseball player with a sincere desire to heighten his baseball abilities and increase his baseball acumen is eligible to participate in the Washington University Prospect Camp. It helps to also have a burning desire to play college baseball at a college or university with an academic reputation and campus atmosphere like Washington University in St. Louis.
